hc1’s project featuring a visual, dynamic dashboard of COVID-19 lab testing Data was named a Spotlight Project in the Public Health Information Sharing track in Datavant’s Pandemic Response Hackathon held March 27-29.

The virtual event aimed at better understanding and mitigating the spread of COVID-19 and future pandemics was organized by Datavant and partners including the U.S. Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), AWS and Snowflake

hc1’s project focused on building a coalition of laboratories to combine test results data from across the nation into a visual dashboard displaying COVID-19 testing rates, positive and negative test results and key demographic filters like age and gender down to the county level.

The hc1 team is working around the clock to soon launch the dashboard as a free public health service to individuals directly involved with policies and programs to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and healthcare providers who are delivering care to help those who are impacted.

hc1 is asking all accredited COVID-19 testing labs to join the lab coalition and share data at no cost as part of this important public health resource. All data used in the dashboard is de-identified to comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) privacy requirements. If your lab is interested in participating, please contact hc1
